The Institute for Childhood Education (ICE) was founded by Dr. Barbara Sorrells in 2007 to provide consulting and professional development training in child development for educators and professionals from schools, daycares, agencies and other child advocacy programs.

Dr. Sorrels provides services across the country, particularly for agencies and schools needing guidance in nurturing children. In addition to personally developing and delivering the content for both ICE and Connected Kids, Dr. Sorrells produces a bi-weekly podcast to provide information from a faith-based perspective, integrating current research from child development and neuroscience
